iDr. AbouchL s a Consultant Intensivist/Pulmonologist is an Associate professor of Medicine at the University of North Dakota, practicing pulmonary and critical care medicine at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Dr Abouchala received his training in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee Memphis followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. In 1990 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee and also worked as a Consultant and Staff physician at the VA Medical Center, Memphis in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Between 1994-2020, Dr Abouchala joined the Department of Adult Critical Care Medicine, King Faisal hospital in Riyadh as a consultant in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Between April 2006 and August 2007, Dr Abouchala was the section head of Critical Care Medicine at the Department of Medicine in the King Faisal hospital. Dr. Abouchala was the Deputy Chairman of the Adult Critical Care Department at King Faisal hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia between 2014-2017

Dr Abouchala has authored many book chapters, meeting abstracts and publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians and a Member of the American Thoracic Society and the American Association for Respiratory Care.
