About the Event

This session is part of multiple sessions in the mechancial ventilation (MV) course. These sessions will focus heavily on interactive workshops with simulation and case studies to augment and enhance your knowledge in mechanical ventilation. Each session will deliver key messages that will guide adult clinicians towards the evidence-based application of mechanical ventilation and allow participants to set up novel approaches and various feedback loops.

OBJECTIVES:

These sessions are intended to provide you with up-to-date research and information to be able to:

1. Understand the basic and advanced principles of mechanical ventilation.

2. Understand and comprehend the basic and advanced modes of mechanical ventilation.

3. Discuss principles of mechanical ventilation related to disease management.

4. Interpret flow, volume and pressure scalars, and loops obtained from the mechanical ventilator.

5. Understand the basic monitoring of Mechanical ventilation.

6. Understand the different mechanical ventilation complications.

7. Understand and practice the weaning process and best mode for weaning from mechanical ventilation.

INTENDED AUDIENCE:

This program is intended for clinicians who have responsibility for the mechanical ventilatory management of critically ill or injured patients and seek basic and advanced knowledge in Mechanical Ventilation. These clinicians include the following:

1. Adult critical care physicians.

2. Critical care practitioners and critical care fellows.

3. All physicians working in intensive care units and dealing directly with ventilated patients.

4. Respiratory therapists and anesthesia technicians in training or practitioners.

DESCRIPTION:
