Mazen Kherallah, MD, MHA, FCCP, is a highly experienced healthcare professional with expertise in critical care, infectious diseases, and internal medicine. Dr. Kherallah received his medical degree (MD) from Damascus University Medical School in Damascus, Syria, in 1987. He also completed a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree from the University of Phoenix in 2016.

Dr. Kherallah pursued specialized training through several postgraduate fellowships, including a Critical Care Fellowship at Wayne State University, an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and another Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Illinois/University of Chicago. He also completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago and an Internal Medicine Internship at Atlantic City Medical Center in New Jersey.


Mazen Kherallah, MD, MHA, FCCP, is a distinguished medical professional with an impressive record of accomplishments. In addition to his extensive education and clinical experience, Dr. Kherallah has authored or co-authored multiple publications in leading medical journals, including Critical Care Medicine, Chest, and The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.


Dr. Kherallah has several certifications, including American Board Diplomas in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. He also holds an American Board Diploma in Neurocritical Care Medicine, which he earned in 2021.


Dr. Kherallah has been recognized for his excellence and contributions to the field with several awards and honors, such as the Guardian Angel Award and Golden Stethoscope Award from Sanford Health Medical Center, the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award from the University of North Dakota's Internal Medicine and Family Practice programs, and the A.C. Johnson Memorial Education Award from Michigan Health Medical Center.


Dr. Kherallah has held numerous professional positions throughout his career, including serving as the Medical Director of the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Sanford Health System in Fargo, North Dakota. He was also a founder member and president of the Middle East Critical Care Assembly (MCCA), a non-profit organization registered in Illinois and partnered with the SCCM. Additionally, Dr. Kherallah served as the Director and Manager of the Database Program in ICU at MeritCare Health System/University of North Dakota and the Chairman of the Quality Management Forum at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.
